Pacific Gate by Bosa
Bringing "Super Prime" to San Diego is the start of a whole new Seaport
Nat Bosa would be the one to take downtown San Diego from good to great. Look at NYC. What if could buy a view of Central Park before it really want Central Park? We often joke that San Diego is a "fake little city" where you can still park right in front of where you're going and there are a plethora of unused space, usually in the form of parking lots which were mostly bought up by Mr. Bosa. In the last three years we saw the tranformation of East Village. But what about the main entrance to our city, the Seaport? Sprawling Ace parking lots and even an Office Max lined the Seaport complimenting city military buildings that were so they plain they could be called eye sores. This part of town would be considered the most valuable real estate, with it's panoramic water views, it's basically at the corner of ocean and ocean. Enter Pacific Gate.
Land and Sea is the theme for the spankin new building. The hallway lamps look like jellyfish but in a cool way. The color schemes really do feel calming as if you're at sea. The colors are mute and easy on the eye. So sleek and fresh but not the harsh modern designs we have been seeing a lot of. The building is 70% sold which means you have a 30% chance of still owning a home fresh out the gate-pun intended. Unfortunately, the ever popular 02 floor plan is sold out. The was the plan that sacrificed on space in the mast for the south west corner view, which is panoramic towards Coronado. Luckily there is ONE 04 floor plan left that is the closest plan to the 02. See below for more details on that.
While we do think this building a good investment, Bosa also built it at the height of the seller's market. New construction is always a good idea, why buy old when you can buy new for around the same price? These condos, though highly priced, are pretty comparable to the prices in the first high-rise with similar views, Harbor Club. That being said, if you want unobstructed water views you are in a similarly expensive boat no matter which building you pick. Might as well get a shiny new penny for your two-three million pennies.
